Your saved library lives on your devices and, if enabled, in your private iCloud database. Paperfoot AI cannot browse that private library. If you choose Volte Cloud transcription, Volte temporarily processes a copy of that recording as described below. Volte has no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking.
Audio, transcripts, summaries, speaker labels, notes, location tags, and settings are stored on your device. When iCloud sync is available, titles, transcripts, summaries, notes, and smaller audio files can also sync through your private iCloud. Larger audio files remain on the device where they were recorded. Paperfoot AI cannot read your private iCloud data. You can control Volte's iCloud access in Apple system settings.
Deleted recordings remain in Recently Deleted for 30 days, then Volte removes them permanently from connected devices.
By default, Volte transcribes on your device and does not upload audio. Volte also uses the network for iCloud sync, subscription verification, and optional location lookup. Titles, summaries, and action items are generated on your device.
If you choose Volte Cloud transcription, Volte uploads that recording's audio over an encrypted connection. Volte and its service providers process the audio to create the transcript.
Volte deletes its temporary audio and transcript copies after delivering your transcript, or within 48 hours if transcription does not finish. Service providers may retain processing data under their own terms.
To enforce the monthly limit, Volte keeps your App Store transaction ID and monthly transcription usage. It does not include your name, Apple ID, or recording contents.
Location is off by default. If enabled, Volte saves the city with each recording and syncs it through your private iCloud. Volte uses the microphone only while recording.
Export or delete recordings at any time. Manage synced data through iCloud. Contact support@volte.dev with a privacy or deletion request.
